Awais Yaqub, born 1984 and raised in Islamabad. Originally from Faisalabad, Freelance photographer and MBA by studies.
Specifically, I love to explore Human Culture and Nature side of the world. Culture is as diverse as nature, it makes our world so beautiful and lively and charm to shoot with camera. Photography has served me as a way to express myself and i found it extremely helpful tool to spread cultural harmony around the world. and I have been doing this since 2004 when I got 1st point and shoot camera as gift from my parents, and launched my own website (
http://www.awaisyaqub.com) in collaboration with SmugMug.com in 2005 which hosts more than 3000 pictures belonging to Pakistan and sole work of mine, collection is increasing day by day as I keep traveling around. Unfortunately restrictions on shooting pictures of historic monuments have really let me down, but I try to shoot where ever and whatever I can. I hope government will allow photography of historic monuments, many photographers as i can do a lot more to promote Pakistan’s true beauty around the world, if policy makers ever think about eliminate restrictions.
My work has been displayed around the world in Art galleries in, Malaysia, India, United Kingdom, and USA. My work has been part of collection of Addison Ripley, Washington DC, which is an honor for me. Recently I was awarded a blog Award by CIO Pakistan in best photo blog category, I share my techniques and post about my news and photos on my blog
http://www.photopakistan.blogspot.com . I have plans to publish a book with images of colorful life of Pakistan in future and travel whole world and meet people, as i am believer of cultural diversity and respect for everyone.
